Purchasing
Overview
Purchasing is responsible for purchasing equipment, supplies, and services as required by the various departments of the City, including preparing Requests for Proposals/Information, Invitations for Bid and contracting services.

Purchasing procedures have been established to ensure that open, fair competitive means are used to obtain the best value for the tax dollar. As such, whenever practical, we use competitive methods for purchasing certain products and services, depending on the dollar value of the transaction.

Verbal or faxed quotations, written quotations, or formal Invitation for Bid and Request for Proposals may be used in the process. We also utilize contracts established by the State of Colorado, other governmental agencies, or other cooperatives or agencies when it is to our advantage.
