Trail Opening Celebration August 2011
Centennial has entered into a partnership with the South Suburban Park Foundation to plan and build a trail that will link Centennial neighborhoods to the regional trail network. Details regarding the project can be found in the presentation and the adopted master plan documents located to the right. The South Suburban Park District is the lead of the project and has substantially completed construction of the first phase from University Boulevard to the juncture with the High Line Canal Trail near Orchard Road. South Suburban is moving forward with design and construction of Phase II of the project which will complete the extension of the trail to join with the Holly Open Space. The City, in partnership with South Suburban, has been successful in obtaining three grants for this project, including $188,350 from the State Trails program, and grants of $250,000 and $200,6000 from Arapahoe County.
