Overview
September 11, 2001 spurred the production of the National Crime Prevention Council's "United for a Stronger America: Citizens' Preparedness Guide"The goal of this guide is to help Americans learn how to make preparedness a part of their daily lives and improve their neighborhoods and communities in the process.

In addition, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the American Red Cross have produced a brochure "Preparing for Disaster" This guide offers tips on how your family can prepare for an emergency or disaster before it happens.

Take the 2010 Disaster Ready Challenge!  Preparing for disasters makes us all winners!

September is National Preparedness month.  This is a time to remember, and a time to prepare.  Take steps this month to prepare your family, neighborhood and community for emergencies and disasters.
