Excessive noise can be a hazard to the public health, safety, welfare and quality of life; and residents and visitors have the right to and an expectation of an environment free from excessive sound.
If you feel that excessive noise or sound is jeopardizing your health, safety or welfare, please contact the Sheriff’s Department at 303-795-4711. They will dispatch a deputy who will investigate the complaint and determine whether or not the noise is considered a violation of the code.
Exceptions to the code are:
- Operation of emergency vehicles
- Operation of train, aircraft or other activity subject to federal law.
- Mechanical devises or equipment used, related or connected with emergency machine
- Operation of snowplows
- Use of property for occasional public cultural, athletic entertainment or patriotic events.
- Noises emanating from school property during school or school sponsored events.
- Public utility operations
- Lawful professional outdoor fireworks displays.
