HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATIONS INVITED TO WORKSHOP MARCH 23
HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATIONS INVITED TO WORKSHOP MARCH 23

Two of the Denver Metro Area’s strongest organizations of homeowners associations will host a free roundtable workshop at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, at the Centennial Civic Center, 13133 East Arapahoe Road. All homeowners associations (HOA) and civic associations are invited to attend.

The workshop is presented by the Home Owners Association Council of Community Associations Institute, Rocky Mountain Chapter, and the Centennial Council of Neighborhoods (CenCON). A similar workshop two years ago was very well attended. Among the topics are: liens, foreclosures and sale of liens; association budgeting and reserve; fiduciary responsibilities of board members; Fair Housing Issues for owners and renters; insurance reserves and assessments; and HOA Governance Basics and Day-to-Day Management and Operations. The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. with a light supper. The workshop begins at 6 p.m.

Designed for mandatory homeowners’ associations, a subject matter expert for each topic will share their expertise and answer questions.

Registration for this free workshop can be done online at www.hoa-colorado.org or by calling 303-951-4973 (CAI-RMC) by Monday, March 22.

CenCon is a voluntary association of nearly 60 Centennial neighborhoods that meets monthly to learn about civic and community issues and discuss common concerns and success stories. It was founded by Centennial Mayor Cathy Noon.

The Home Owners Association Council is comprised of volunteers from Community Associations Institute, a nonprofit alliance serving all stakeholders in community associations, including individual homeowners, managers, attorneys, lenders, reserve specialists, insurers and other providers of professional services. The Rocky Mountain Chapter was organized in 1976 to provide support to community associations in northern Colorado and the Denver metropolitan area.

The Rotary Club of Centennial and the City of Centennial are pleased to announce Centennial’s annual “State of Our City” luncheon to be held Thursday, April 8, at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The keynote speaker will be newly-elected Centennial Mayor Cathy Noon, who will give her first “State of Our City” address.

The mayor will report on the milestones the City reached this past year, as well as the challenges still ahead and her vision for the City’s future. “In its sixth year, the Rotary-hosted ‘State of Our City’ is becoming an established tradition in Centennial,” said Mayor Noon. “It is a great civic forum for the business community and an opportunity for the Rotary to assist local charities.”

The event host is the Rotary Club of Centennial, a chapter of Rotary International formed shortly after the founding of Centennial. Club President Mary Alice Jackson commented, “We are pleased to sponsor this annual event as it brings together businesses, organizations, and citizens interested in the progress of our community. We are excited to hear what our new mayor plans for the City. We expect a full house again this year.”

The “State of Our City” luncheon will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 10250 E. Costilla Ave., Centennial, on Thursday, April 8. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Individual tickets are $30, with sponsored tables also available. The event is open to the public; seating is limited and reservations are strongly encouraged. Tickets are available through Black Tie of Colorado, a ticketing service for nonprofit organizations, at www.blacktie-colorado.com. Proceeds of this event go to the Centennial Rotary Club Foundation. The foundation assists local charities and community service organizations.
