Discussion will include the definition of a pet and a numerical limitation in residential zoning districts. In addition, an allowance for the keeping of wildlife will be discussed, such as the keeping of raptors by individuals or organizations licensed by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Currently the Land Development Code limits the number of pets to three per household and does not contemplate the allowance of wildlife in residential areas. The City is contemplating changes to the definition of a pet, how the number of pets will be regulated and contemplating allowances for certain wildlife in residential areas.
