Centennial Youth Corp Meeting scheduled

The next Centennial Mayor's Youth Corp meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 10 at 6 p.m. at the Centennial City Offices located at 13133 E. Arapahoe Rd.

The Youth Corp meets regularly and focuses on issues such as teen alcohol abuse, community health and safety and sustainability. Being a part of the Youth Corp allows teens to be leaders, plan special events, learn about city government and more. Last May, the Youth Corp planned and implemented the first Centennial Youth Battle of the Bands Youth event.

The Centennial Youth Commission consists of 11 members who work closely with the Mayor's Youth Corp. Many more teens are interested in their community besides the 11 Youth Commissioners and the Mayor's Youth Corp provides an opportunity for youth between the ages of 13 and 18 to be involved. Teens do not need to be residents of Centennial.

The agenda for the meeting on September 10 is to establish strategies of how the Youth Corp plans to meet their goals this school year.
